Ilkley is a thriving former spa town, back dropped by its famous moor, The Cow & Calf rocks and White Wells. There are excellent shopping facilities and amenities within the town as well as several Public Houses, excellent bars and restaurants, The Playhouse, a cinema and The Kings Hall and Winter Gardens.

There are excellent communications by rail and road to the larger commercial centres of Leeds and Bradford as well as bus services that also connect to nearby Skipton which is the gateway to The Dales. The Dales Way runs through Ilkley and provides picturesque riverside walks and there are also Cricket, Rugby, Football, Tennis and Hockey Clubs, as well as a swimming pool and a Lido. The large park which is only a short walk across the road is a very pleasant space for outdoor relaxation.

Beyond Ilkley lie the nearby villages of Addingham, Burley-in-Wharfedale and Menston which all have excellent Primary Schools and their own recreational facilities along with a selection of shops, Public House’s, and café’s etc.

The historic market town of Otley is situated in lower Wharfedale.  Whilst no longer the record holder for the most Pub’s per head of population, there is still and excellent selection along with bar’s restaurants and cafés.  Backdropped by the picturesque Chevin and country park, the town is bisected by the River Wharfe and there are many lovely walks.  Excellent Primary Schools serve the highly regarded Secondary School, Prince Henry’s Grammar School and there are superb road links to the larger commercial centres of Leeds, Bradford & Harrogate, as well as to the A1. There is a regular market in the Market Square and there are Sainsbury, Asda and Waitrose supermarkets.

The villages of Pool-in-Wharfedale and Arthington are just down the road.
